A few days before Christmas our friend & co-worker, Justin Buchanan, was diagnosed with leukemia after a trip to the ER to check on a bout of chronic strep throat. Needless to say, he was not expecting this and was luckily taken in immediately to begin testing. He has been in the hospital locally since December 16th and will be transferred 2 hours way to Shand’s in Gainesville in the coming days to begin treatment including chemotherapy and a marrow transplant. All this is coupled with Justin having his first child on the way this April.
If you have ordered from us since this summer Justin has probably shipped your order or handled your merch (especially if you got a little smiley face on your packing slip). He can use any help possible right now since he’s not expected to be able to return to work til summer 2021. 100% of the sale of these tees will go to his treatment and helping keep him & his new family afloat during this time. Justin has just hit 3 years of sobriety and we know he’ll put that same drive into his recovery & fatherhood. Any help is greatly appreciated by him, his family & the Night Shift crew.
This shirt is inspired by our deep dive into McGruff’s ‘Smart Kids’ cassette while packing orders this Holiday season and Justin’s favorite quote from the Podcast: The Ride episode about it, “Sober up, loser!”… so, get better, loser!
